Coaching Workshop
Coaching means encouraging and motivating team members to achieve their goals, solve their own problems and find their own solutions by asking the right questions.
It’s about getting the best from people and encouraging them to perform at peak potential by developing the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge.
Coaching can be a particular challenge for managers who have been promoted for their technical, professional or academic expertise, rather than their managerial skills, as they tend to focus on solutions, facts and objectives rather than supporting the development of the people in their team.
Outcomes
By the end of this training workshop, managers will:
- Be confident that they can have a conversation with their team members to identify coaching needs and growth areas
- Be able to provide structured coaching for their teams using the GROW model
- Understand that coaching can be quick, simple and informal yet still highly effective
- Encourage team members to take responsibility for their own solutions
- Know when to coach
- Have practised and/or reviewed a practice coaching session
This interactive training session can be as short as a 90 minute skills clinic or as long as a full day workshop – depending on your exact requirements.
